Course Philosophy and Goals

The purpose of this course is to educate divers in the properties of buoyancy as it relates to a diver with a buoyancy object, such as a pumpkin. To improve the diver's confidence in the underwater environment by providing them with an opportunity to practice their buoyancy skills, while carving a pumpkin. Diving skills and confidence are improved as a diver demonstrates the ability to concentrate on the simple task of carving a pumpkin, while underwater.

This specialty is an introduction to Underwater Pumpkin Carving Artist. It will familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and enjoyment of Underwater Pumpkin Carving Artist diving. It is intended to serve as a safe and supervised introduction to Underwater Pumpkin Carving Artist diving. Training should emphasize safety and fun. This course covers basic buoyancy skills while holding a positive buoyant object such as a pumpkin, with special emphasis on practical training
